CDON does not allow the use of censored or blurred images in product ads. Such image manipulation usually indicates the unauthorized use of copyrighted images, the concealment of counterfeit goods, or the unauthorized use of a person's identity.
The following examples are considered to be in violation of this policy:
- Watermarks that have been blurred or censored
- Tags that have been blurred or censored
- Logs that have been blurred or censored
- The faces that have been blurred or censored
Ambiguous advertising
CDON does not allow the sale of secret gifts or multiple unrelated products within a single product ad. Product listing titles, images, price levels and descriptions must all match and specify the product being sold.
Violations of this policy:
- Surprise boxes or secret boxes
- Product variance
- Value variation
- Difference between the number marketed and the number sold
- Misrepresentation of size in title, descriptions, etc.
Misleading product advertisements
Product advertisements that intentionally and falsely represent products and mislead customers are prohibited. The title, description, price, size/color options, and images used to promote a product must clearly and accurately reflect the product being sold.
Violations of this policy:
- Deviations in the title and/or main image
- Unreasonable price levels
- Use of irrelevant or misleading images
- When an advertised package size cannot be purchased
- Product variants with unclear or misleading terms in the size/color options
- Selling storage devices with false or impossible capacity
- The product is not the focus of the main image
- Incorrect representation of size in the main image of the product
- Product variants or quantities that do not make sense to a reasonable customer, but which the merchant does not clearly and consistently indicate in the product advertisement (applies to main image, product title, description, size options and other parts of the product advertisement)
- Product advertisements that are misleading or create unreasonable expectations about products for customers
